January 2022 - THE 5: Kenneth McGlothin

Kenneth McGlothin is a familiar face in the film industry, and that face will be on-scene during this year’s Sundance Film Festival as Mr. Ryan, a science teacher in the film When You’re Done Saving the World. McGlothin took on “The 5 Questions" for this month.

What was the experience like working on the film?

It was an amazing experience working with someone I’ve admired as an actor for so many years. Being directed by a movie star that is down to earth and wants to tell his story was the highlight of the year.

It's now being shown at Sundance. What does it feel like to have a contribution on a big film?

It feels amazing to finally have a movie in the festival. It’s been a huge goal of mine since I began acting.

How long have you been working in the industry?

I’ve been in the industry for 18 years. Producing, Assistant Directing, and Acting.

Would you like to see more productions like this come to New Mexico? How do you think we can make that happen?

I would definitely love to see more productions like this come through NM. I think we are doing exactly what we need to do to more of; incentives and a huge film community. I believe this film will bring even more attention to NM film.

What is your goal when it comes to your acting career?

My goal is to become a steady working actor. Getting paid to do what I love.
